Paint Correction
Two-Stage CorrectionPaint Correction at our Southend-on-Sea studio
Compounding followed by refining, removing 80 to 85 percent of moderate swirls and scratches.
What two-stage correction involves
Where defects are too deep for a single-stage polish, a two-stage approach is required. The first stage uses a heavy-cut compound to remove moderate swirls, scratches and oxidation, working panel by panel and measuring paint depth throughout to remain within safe limits. Compounding leaves its own micro-marring, so a second refining stage follows to remove it and restore full gloss and depth. We typically achieve between 80 and 85 percent defect removal, with any remaining marks being those too deep to address without compromising the clear coat. Each panel is finished with an isopropyl alcohol wipe-down to confirm the correction is genuine.
